Ep.199 - Static-X @ H.O.B Sunset Strip - West Hollywood,CA

For some reason or another, I decided not put in a press request for this show. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! I missed the opening acts, but was able to score a freebie right before Static X went on. What a show! I am so glad that I went. I don’t know if I will truly ever be able to describe it.
I saw Static-X at least 3 times when I was a teenager, and always had a blast. I am not sure why I stopped seeing them, and I regret it has taken me this long to see them again.
The fans were very cool at this show. Everyone was down to rock out, and that isnÂ’t something you see in LA too often. The band was into the fans as well. Their energy was transferred to the crowd, and got the whole place shaking. I would like to say that Tommy Lee coming out and playing drums for the encore was my highlight, but the fans took the cake.
I was at the Static-X show last night at the House of Blues Sunset. I’ve been going to see Static-X for the past 10 years now (Ozzfest ‘99 was the first), and I’ve now been to 30+ of their shows. Not one show of theirs have I left feeling disappointed. Last night’s show was fantastic, they played a great mix of songs from all their albums. It was awesome seeing Tommy Lee up there playing drums during the Motley cover of “Looks That Kill”. My personal highlight was Tony handing me one of his shots of tequila. Anyways, just wanted to tell my part. Static-X, great band, everyone should see them at least once.
