I knew very little about this band walking into The Mayan. I knew there were some live drummers, because I caught the very end of their set while backstage at HARD Haunted Mansion, but that was about it. However, everything I heard about them was beyond positive.

The MCs were very entertaining even though I couldn’t understand anything they were saying. Honestly though, it was the beats that kept the crowd engaged. The entire place was dancing from the second they began until the house lights came up.
I guarantee the next time Buraka Som Sistema comes to Los Angeles, there will be a line around the block to catch them. I just hope it’s sooner than later!
