Bryan, Lorn and Stefan roll over to LAX for the weekly party known as Banana Split Sundaes. Stefan, visiting from out of town, gives his personal exposé of the event. http://www.myspace.com/bananasplitsundaes
I have been wanting to hit up this event ever since I found out about it after DJ Falcon and Busy P tore up the place on Nov. 2nd, 2008. Finally, after some unnecessary wait, I did manage to get out to LAX on Sunday night. Quite frankly, I couldn’t be any more pleased with the potential of this Sunday night dance party. Every DJ that rolls through town that I care about will likely be spinning in this intimate venue with plenty of people ready to get down.

As far as this night went, it wasn’t as good as it could be, but it was excellent and just really showed me what I can expect from Banana Split Sundaes in the future. DJ AM is just ridiculously good at dropping beats and mixing songs. I have a new respect for him after seeing him spin from up close. Jesse Marco and Marshall Barnes were both decent and I have nothing to criticize. I simply can’t wait for one of MY favorite DJs to roll into town.
-Show up before 10pm if you have any interest in getting any of the FREE keg on the dance floor.
-Know someone. This way you don’t have to wait in line.
-There were rumors of complimentary desserts, primarily cake. We did not see this, but if you show up early it’s certainly a possibility.
Bottom line, there is NO cover, GREAT music, possibilities of FREE BEER and just lots and lots of good times. This was my first time at LAX and Banana Split Sundaes, but I will be back as frequently as I can be.
