Bryan heads out to The Mayan in downtown Los Angeles, CA to check out Bloc Party with Does it Offend You, Yeah? and get fan reviews after the show.

After seeing Does it Offend You, Yeah? at The Echo on Saturday, I simply had to see them again as soon as possible. Luckily the chance was readily available. This show was a bit of a disappointment, but mainly due to the venue and not because of the bands.

Bloc Party was very good and their fans have a lot of energy. I haven’t seen many bands that bring that kind of excitement out of a crowd, especially on a Tuesday night. Does it Offend You, Yeah? was about as good as I expected them to be, flippin’ awesome! Unfortunately the rest of the crowd didn’t have the same opinion. I would have liked to see a lot of dancing for both acts, but I guess everyone was saving there energy for Bloc Party.

The Mayan needs to figure out how to accommodate all patrons during a show like this. They especially need to figure out how to accommodate the patrons over 21 with money to spend. Getting a beer in this place was like pulling teeth.

All around it was a great show. I can’t wait to see Does it Offend You, Yeah? at the Troubadour in September and I recommend Bloc Party to anyone. -bryan

P.S. MEGA thanks to Jen for hooking it up with a ticket to the show!  I owe you one! -bryan
