I had seen Bassnectar a few times prior to this show and have always been more than impressed. Bassnectar just has a way of reading the crowd and knows how to get a party jumping. The Palladium is one of my favorite venues, so I knew that this show was going to be a special treat.

Bassnectar @ The Palladium Concert Review
One thing that sort of surprised me about this show is that it was sold-out. It wasn’t that I thought Bassnectar couldn’t sell-out the Palladium, but Live Nation had made a very large advertising push for this show over the last week. The push was so large that I figured that tickets for this show weren’t selling very well. In retrospect, Live Nation’s last minute push on this show def ended up paying off for them.
The Palladium was packed full of kids going absolutely out of their minds for Bassnectar. From the second I walked in the door, I could tell the Palladium was popping off. I couldn’t even see the stage. The crowd obviously loved every minute of Bassnectar’s set, as it seemed as if there was not a single soul standing still. Bassnectar recognized the crowd’s energy several times throughout the show.
I think Bassnectar’s cross-blend of Dubstep and Rock n’ Roll is the perfect mix. Every track gave the audience the chance to rock their faces off and get down and dirty at the exact same time. My favorite track of the night was Bassnectar’s mashup of Blur’s “Song #2″ and Madison Avenue’s, ” Don’t Call Me Baby.”
In addition to the heavy bassy beats that Bassnectar was dropping, I think everyone will agree that the light design of this show was out of this world. The lighting stretched the length of the stage and almost reached the ceiling. At points during the show, you felt as if you were almost being sucked into the stage.
In closing, I talked with a lot of people after the show that didn’t really seem to enjoy it all the much. Personally, I thought the show was off-the-chain and would def see Bassnectar again. I recommend Bassnectar to anyone who is looking to get down to some heavy beats.
