Goodie Mob Reunion Tour

First off, how do you NOT know who the Goodie Mob is? I told so many people about this show, and everyone seemed to be completely aloof. This shocked me, but as soon as I mentioned Gnarls Barkley everyone jumped to their toes and knew exactly who I was talking about. Learn your history people!!! Cee-Lo got his start with the Goodie Mob, they collaborated several times with Outkast, and they had hits such as ‘Cell Therapy,’ ‘Soul Food,’ and ‘Black Ice (Sky High).’

With that said, this show far surpassed my expectations.  That’s not to say that I was expecting the Goodie Mob to have lost it, but sometimes hip hop acts aren’t able to pull it together in a live setting.  You never truly know what you are going to get.  The quality of the music they produced on stage was epic and of the highest quality. The sound mix seemed perfect.

The biggest surprise of the show was a Cee-Lo solo of his hit with Gnarls Barkley, “Crazy,” but the show in general was more than enjoyable. I hope to see the Goodie Mob again and that this post doesn’t over-hype the Goodie Mob live.  However, I have a feeling if you enjoy live hip hop it won’t.  -lorn
