I had seen Manu Chao two times prior to this show.  The last time being close to 3 years ago and since then I have not stopped singing him praises or dreaming of seeing him again.

I knew Manu was playing the Smoke Out Festival out in San Bernadino, but did not want to see him in a festival atmosphere and decided to pass on that opportunity. Luckily for me Manu decided to play a last minute show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.  I was ecstatic and jumped on the opportunity to see him at such a small venue and bought a ticket immediately.

From the moment Manu and his band walked on stage the room was filled with energy!  They were no doubt putting in the effort as if they were preforming for thousands of people in a giant arena.

The thing I enjoy the most about Manu Chao is that I do not understand 85% of what he is saying due to a language barrier. Manu sings in 6 different langues! (French, Spanish, English, Galician, Arabic and Portuguese) Nonetheless, every song is a jump around good time.

In closing no matter what language you speak if you are down to rock Manu Chao is the show for you. I cant wait to see him again and hope he returns to LA sooner then later!
