Lorn, Bryan, and Chrystal head out to Pauley Pavillion on the UCLA Campus to check out VH1 Rock Honors The Who w/ Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Tenacious D, The Flaming Lips, Incubus and special guest Adam Sandler. Afterward they get fan reviews from the show.
Airs on VH1 Thursday July 17th @ 9pm (8pm Central)
This show was absolutely incredible. Getting to see The Who live from the front row was amazing all on its own, but then to see Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Incubus, The Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, and Adam Sandler all playing tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time… mind blowing.
The website said that the doors would only be open for an hour before the show would begin, so Lorn and I figured that would be a crunch on trying to get tickets. However, this show proved to be one of the greatest ticket finding adventures ever.
After looking for tickets for only about 20-30 min, two producers from VH1 (Karen and Mike) came directly up to us and said, “You guys look like you know how to rock. How about front row seats?” Needless to say we were ecstatic about this proposition and gladly accepted. FRONT ROW SEATS FOR THE WHO!!! -bryan
This could possibly be one of the greatest concert adventures I have ever been on. Looking back on it, I can’t believe we got these seats to see this show. When I watch this show on VH1I might be a little bit disappointed at how far away from the stage I am.
Jeremy Piven came down and crammed into the front so he could rock out to The Who
I couldn’t believe I got to rock out front row with Jeremy Piven!
Rainn Wilson introduces The Flaming Lip
One very cool thing about this show is that I will get to see it again and again but will have only been there once. Pearl Jam rocked the house, Dave Ghrol was being a Rock Star as usual, The Flaming Lips did their own thing, Incubus did what they do (rock), Tenacious D made me want to like them, Adam Sandler surprised me, and The Who made me glad I went. -lorn
Thanks so much to Chrystal for driving and rocking out with us!
