Chrystal checks out Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, and Papa Roach at the Sommet Center in Nashville, TN on March 30th, 2009 and gets fan reviews of the show!
With the economy in its present state, we’ve been seeing a lot of headlining acts group together for super tours. Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, and Papa Roach are currently touring together with opener Burn Halo. Tickets are priced at a fair $40 a ticket.
Depending on when you purchase the ticket, you could possibly have a floor general admission ticket at that price. If you are slow on the purchase, your ticket is good for the whole venue, except the floor. Just pick your seat. Get to the venue early, and you are all set. I really like this set up.
I was surprised to see that Buckcherry wasn’t headlining this show, but it was clear that most of the audience was there to see Avenged Sevenfold. Being a more pop-driven listener, Buckcherry is more fun for me. Sevenfold switches between styles so much, I felt like Goldie Locks – it was too hard for me at times, and other times too soft (and all within the same song). Guy made a good point and said that they are like all the best bands in different styles of rock meshed into one. Is it possible to have too much of a good thing, causing sounds to clash? I thought so, but no one else in that venue would have agreed with me. Everyone LOVED Sevenfold.
In this time of “super tours,” wouldn’t it be cool if there was a box you could check off when buying your ticket online – letting the bands and venues know who you are going to see? Then, they can switch off headliners according to the market. 80% wants Avenged Sevenfold…so they’ll close the show.
I was a little bummed about Buckcherry’s performance. I think they really feed off the crowd energy, and it was a small crowd on a Monday night. The crowd was also Sevenfold heavy, so Buckcherry wasn’t getting the vibes that they probably usually get off of an audience. I felt they were going through the motions. Still, Josh Todd’s a sex god – and I loved it. I’ll definitely go see all these bands again when the opportunity arises. -*Chrystal
