Bryan checks out the Black Label Society night at the Wiltern in Los Angeles with opening sets by Sevendust, Dope, and Cycle of Pain.
The Black Label Society Bash at the Wiltern was a smorgasbord of hard rocking metal. I walked into the Wiltern around 7pm and Cycle of Pain was already playing. The venue was already about 70% full. I am still impressed with how dedicated metal fans are to their musical genre of choice. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Cycle of Pain, Dope, and Sevendust were all very good live acts and I would certainly be enticed to attend a show with any of these bands again. Topping the night off with Black Label Society was just icing on the cake. Zakk Wylde certainly lives up to the hype. He is a monsterous performer.
I was fortunate to meet this talented photographer, Chris Loomis, who was having a problem getting his photo pass that he was confirmed for. Lucky for him I didn’t bring a still cam with me, so I gave him my photo pass and he certainly put it to good use.
Overall, this was an incredibly rocking experience for me. I have never been against metal music, but it wasn’t until this night that I became a fan. The fans are so nice, the music is so good live, and the atmosphere is just what you would want when you are looking for rocking good times!
