Jay Nash // Interview 1

Jay Nash came through Nashville a few weeks ago with Roy Jay and Benjy Davis Project, and was kind enough to chat with me for a few minutes before his show.  It sounds like his 2010 is  jam-packed with touring and recording. Nash fans have a lot to look forward to.  He is “TFDI,” for sure.

Although he already has a steady following, I have a feeling Nash is going to blow up!  Working with so many different artists, establishing a presence in various cities (including internationally),  learning all aspects of the industry, and being constantly focused on the music and what’s next - he’s applying all the key ingredients to success. I mean, shortly after this interview, I saw this tweet from @Perez Hilton (2,060,834 followers):

“Impromptu jam session at my backyard with @Meiko and Jay Nash. It’s like the Hotel Cafe at my house! #LoveIt Perfect summer Sunday!”

Not to mention, Nash comes to life on stage.  His recordings are wonderful, but the live show sold me.  The way he invites other artists/friends on stage with him adds  different dynamics and a nice flow to the set.  His voice and style of singing seemed to theatrically transform  with the feel of the song he was singing and who he was playing with.  It’s as if he has three different voices – all of which are strong and resonate beautifully.
