When I showed up to Club Nokia with my buddy J.J. to see Miike Snow, we weren’t sure if we had showed up for a concert or for an Urban Outfitters sale. There was a ton of energy, even from the outside, and you could feel the party vibes all around.

I was feeling good with some “medicine” and beer in my system.  I showed up just in time to catch MNDR on stage. The crowed went grooving to the pop beats as they resonated across Club Nokia, but it was just build up for what else was to come.

Mark Ronson and the Business International came hard and heavy with 80s beats, pop synth and hip hop sound that got the crowd going even more.

I was really impressed with this sort of Devo meets LMFAO group.  They had a raw energy and I was really digging the hot keyboardist. I didn’t know what to expect of Mark Ronson and the Business International, but with the combination of the keyboards, bass guitar and Spank Rock spitting out his flows, I definitely suggest checking them out.

All this was built to that one moment, Miike Snow. Their light show, creepy masks and overall mysterious set just blew my mind (and my Guiness beer) away. These Swedish dudes were crazy. They were loud, energetic, and one of the most impressive sets I have seen in 2010.

When the crowd favorite “Animal” played, they went nuts, singing along and clearly having an amazing time. Even I, the photographer,  could not help but sing along and dance in the photo pit like a mad man (In true YTC fashion).

For their encore, Miike Snow came back rocking out with lazertag light vests to cover Vampire Weekend’s soft and mellow “Kids Don’t Stand A Chance” changing it in how only Miike Snow know’s how to. JUST. WOW. Having only released one album, I hope they continue to make new music and keep rocking out.
