Sigur Ros @ Hollywood Forever

Sigur Ros at Hollywood Forever was by far one of the toughest tickets of the year. The show sold out instantly and the street was packed with die hard fans trying to score a ticket. It took some doing but after an hour and a half of trying to find a ticket, I finally finagled my way inside. I have seen several shows at Hollywood Forever Cemetery and have to say it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite venues. There is just something about listening to music amongst the dead that is incredibly surreal. I ended up missing the first four songs of Sigur Ros’s dreamy 16 song set, and although it would have been great to catch the entire thing, I was still satisfied with their performance.

One of the coolest things about this show was the crowd. Everyone was fully immersed in the Sigur Ros set, and with the exception of a select few they remained completely silent as the band performed their enchanting melodies. It’s not often that these Icelandic musicians make their way stateside, so I strongly suggest seeing them if you ever have a chance.

Saw them at Outside Lands the night before this. Simply incredible. Set of the weekend; and I saw Neil Young, Jack White, Stevie Wonder & Beck. Yeah, Sigur Ros was that good.
