I am very aware the band Thirty Seconds to Mars has rabid fans. The Echelon are probably the most hardcore, dedicated, and loyal fan base I have ever come across, but knowing that didn’t prepare me for how much this show “rocked.” While I do see the quality in there music, I’m not afraid to say that Thirty Seconds to Mars isn’t exactly the type of band I jam out to on a daily basis. However, after this show, I will see them live in concert any day of the week.
At the beginning of the show people were having a tough time getting into it. I think they were expecting this Los Angeles band to do the average Los Angeles show. They play music. The audience stands around and maybe bobs there head a little bit. This is not how it played out. By the end of the show the entire place was jumping up and down. Not a person in the audience was standing still.
The energy at this show was unlike anything I have seen in a long time… The way Jared Leto engaged the crowd should be a lesson to all performers. I think the quality of the musical performance is tantamount to creating a great concert, but ultimately it’s about the experience. Thirty Seconds to Mars creates an experience… an experience you don’t want to miss.
