Mar 22nd, 2011
Some great shows this week, but overall kinda slow. Here are the shows that caught our attention for one reason or another. – Lorn and Bryan.
Monday, March 21st
This show is SOLD OUT, but for those of you who have seen Girl Talk before, you know it’s worth trying to find a ticket for. This is going to be one crazy dance party.
Tuesday, March 22nd
I caught Raphael a few years back and he knows how to put on a show. As one of the founding members of Tony! Toni! Tone!, he has been a part of numerous hits and is still at it today.
Well, Dim Mak Tuesdays at Cinespace is finished, but the good folks at Dim Mak are bringing us a new Tuesday night party at their new space - the Dim Mak Studios. I am sure these parties will not disappoint. Dim Mak Studios is located a mere block from the Cinespace location.
Wednsday, March 23rd
For those of you that are bummed you arn’t going to Coachella because you won’t get to see Duran Duran, this is the show for you.
Don’t know much about these guys, but if you are looking for something this Wed night, this could be something fun to check out.
Thursday, March 24th
I have heard a lot of buzz about this show, and it is being put on by Hip Hop Live. I am sure that it’s a show worth checking out, if you are interested in some live Hip Hop.
Friday, March 25th
These guys have been making their rounds through LA for a few years now and seem to be one of Goldenvoice’s favorites to book. Plus, they seem like they know how to rock.
Saturday, March 26th
Girl Talk’s second show at the Palladium this week and it will be a banger. I hope he plays different sets each night, but in all honesty, I kind of doubt it. Regardless, I hope to hit both of his shows at the Palladium.
This is a show not to be missed. The legendary Slick Rick with be performing his classic album ” The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick” in its entirety. I am more than excited for this one.
Ya! late 90s pop punk! These guys had a few hits and did a few arena tours, so I am sure seeing them in a venue of this size will be pretty cool.
Sunday, March 27th
Dim Mak’s weekly Sunday night is always a good place to be on a Sunday. The event takes place at Drais which is on the roof of the W Hotel in Hollywood. In addition to kick-ass residence, this party constantly has special guests dropping by (Steve Aoki, Felix Da House Cat, Z-Trip, Etienne De Crecy) plus $5 beers and $7 cocktails all night long.
