Things are still a bit slow around town heading up to Coachella, but there are a few shows here and there that might be worth checking out.  Let us know what we have missed.

Monday, April 4th:

Nothing on our radar

Tuesday, April 5th:

A Rocket To The Moon @ The Roxy – West Hollywood,CA – $15 -7pm

These guys seem to be popular with the youngins and the ladyies. They have a very Dashboard style. Not exactly my cup of tea, but probably a great show to take the special someone in your life to.

Helmet @ HOB Sunset Strip – West Hollywood,CA -$32.50 – 5:30pm

For those of you looking to rock-out and are down for some heavy riffs, def try and catch these guys.  They are legit and I am sure this show will tear the HOB apart.

Helmet – Miserable

Dim Mak Studios Loft Series @ Dim Mak Studios – Hollywood,CA

Well, Dim Mak Tuesdays at Cinespace is finished, but the good folks at Dim Mak are bringing us a new Tuesday night party at their new space - the Dim Mak Studios.  I am sure these parties will not disappoint.  Dim Mak Studios is located a mere block from the Cinespace location.

Wednesday, April 6th:

A Day To Remember @ Palladium – Hollywood, CA -$35.75 – 6pm

This show is def for you pop punker/ rocker types.  These guys have a fun upbeat and semi-heavy sound.  There will be a lot of jumping around and pandemonium at this show.

A Day To Remember – The Down Fall Of Us All

Pete Yorn w/ Ben Kweller @ The Wiltern – Los Angeles, CA -$39.50-$44.70 -7pm

Pete Yorn is always a treat to see live. He has an impeccable talent and is sure to impress if you are a fan of the singer/songwriter type. Ben Kweller is also on the bill and worth showing up early to catch.

Pete Yorn – Life On A Chain (Live)

Akron/Family @ Echo – Echo Park,CA -$15 -8pm

I have yet to see Akron/Family but they always seem to be a hit when they play LA.  This is a show for you indie rockers to check out.

Akron/Family – They Will Appear Behold (Live)

Thursday, April 7th:

Young Dro w/ Pac Div @ Key Club – West Hollywood,CA – $15 -8pm – 18+

I haven’t listened to Young Dro yet, but Pac Div is “to legit to quit.”  Sean Heally is presenting this show, so I am sure it will be a good one.  Nothing like a Hip-Hop show at the Key Club, so make sure you don’t miss out.

Young Dro, T.I. & Gucci Mane – Freeze Me (J-Wow Fast Lane Mix)

Rise Against w/ Bad Religion @ Long Beach Arena – Long Beach, CA -  $26.50 – $46.70 – 7pm

This show is all the way out in Long Beach, but both Rise Against and Bad Religion know how to rock-out to the max. It might be worth the drive, especially if you have ever been a fan of either of these influential groups.

Rise Against – Prayer Of The Refugee

Friday, April 8th:

The Dodos @ El Rey Theater – Los Angeles, CA – $17 -8pm

I am not 100% sold on The Dodos at this point in time, but figured they were worth mentioning.  Check out their tunage, and if they click with you, check them out.  The show is only $17.

The Dodos – Sleep

John Mellencamp @ Nokia Theater – Los Angeles, CA – $49.50 -$130 – 7pm

I am not sure John Mellencamp has reached legend status yet, but he has been around for a good long while and sold over 40 million records.  So, if he isn’t there yet, he is right on the verge and def worth checking out.  Tickets start at $49.50, so this show is slightly affordable and could make for a nice Friday night.

Saturday, April 9th:

30 Seconds To Mars @ Gibson Amp – Universal City, CA – $22.75 – $52.50 (SOLD OUT) – 8:15pm

It’s not surprising this show is SOLD OUT.  Jared Leto always puts on a killer performance along with the rest of the band. They make one hell of a rock outfit.  Even though this show is SOLD OUT, if you are a fan I am sure you can find a ticket floating around.

Mack 10 @ Key Club – West Hollywood,CA – $17-$25 – 9pm – 18+

This show should be pretty sick. Mack 10 is  a Hip Hop legend and has amassed a large amount of hits.  I have heard he does short sets, but still think he is worth checking out if you are interested in seeing some real Hip Hop.

Redman ft Mack 10 – Whatcha Gonna Do

G Love and Special Sauce @ HOB Sunset Strip – Hollywood,CA – $34.50 – 8pm

A lot of peeps talk smack about the G Love, but I am a fan.  He always puts on a great show, and knows how to work a crowd.  WARNING: This show isn’t for anyone that isn’t down to kick back and enjoy life.

Sunday, April 10th:

Dim Mak Presents Cannonball Sundays w/ Thee Mike B, Fashen and Dj Metric, @ Drais – Hollywood,CA Free with RSVP 21+

Dim Mak’s weekly Sunday night is always a good place to be on a Sunday. The event takes place at Drais, which is on the roof of the W Hotel in Hollywood. In addition to kick-ass residence, this party constantly has special guests dropping by (Steve Aoki, Felix Da House Cat, Z-Trip, Etienne De Crecy) plus $5 beers and $7 cocktails all night long.
